THE GODFATHER

THE GODFATHER (Mario Puzo)

"A Classic"
A perfect book. Cannot be put down. The characters are impressive and their style is doubly so. Great dialogs add to the effect. The dialogs by Don are less but are "filed to perfection." The book is organized similar to Bible. The entire book consists of 9 books and each has different chapters. All together a difference experience of reading books. The story writing is so lively that characters are formed in front of your eyes and you can actually watch them as in a movie. The large size of book might have at times affected the entertainment factor but surprising twists and whole "set-up" of the Mafia makes the reader engrossed in it. The author has gone into detail about working of the Mafia. At the same time, he gave importance to the family. Hollywood too comes to play at times. The value of friendship is what kept me close to the book in the initial chapters.

"Must be Read" *****
Have you ever been bored with life? Ever felt how dull life is or felt a lack of interest in your daily chorus. Here you find the perfect book for you.
The narrator and his senior Julian at the Law firm are the main or only characters in this story. At his prime of his job, Julian is forced to quit due to a stroke. He leaves the place and goes to India. He comes back from there after meeting the Sivana's of Himalayas. He learns many lessons which he recounts to the narrator as the story progresses. He learns from there many ways to enjoy life and also of his destiny in the world. There are many simple techniques for attaining them. He both learns them and applies them in his life to bring magical changes in him physically and mentally. All this he shares with the narrator. At the end of the book, the narrator promises to change his life for better and so did I after reading it. And I hope and believe all the readers would also do it. This is the best inspirational book I have ever read.

The Alchemist

THE ALCHEMIST (Paulo Coelho)
23-02-2008
"Excellent"
"A magical fable about following your dream." This is what I saw on the cover page of the book. And that is exactly what I feel like telling after reading the book. This is a book quite different from all others. The author "sings" about the soul of the world and the soul in everything in universe. He asks us to communicate with the other souls in the universe as well as with our heart. The word alchemy was redefined in this book from what I knew about it. Many lessons necessary for a better life comes here disguised as parts of this magical fable. Everybody in this world should be or rather will be a dream. That is really the path chosen by GOD for us in this world. It's GOD's blessing.
The Lost World

THE LOST WORLD (Michael Chrichton)
30-12-2007
An "average" book and an "excellent" sci-fi.
The second part of Jurassic Park, but lacks many features which made the first one a master-piece. This story mainly lacks axcitement which was plenty in the former.
The story is of a group of people who searches for the Lost World, and the dangers they face when they finally reach there. Lost World mean an area which still hasn't been discovered by humans, where fauna and flora must be living untouched by humans. So there is a chance to find extinct animals there. But when they reach there, they actually find dinosaurs. The scientist in the group, Robert Levine, is happy seeing the dinosaurs because this is going to help the scientific community beyond explanation. But to their surprise they see lots of building with modern facilities which looks as if it had been uninhabited for many years. Ian Malcolm, the mathematician who was a part of Jurassic park too, suddenly realizes that this island is a backstage for the original Jurassic Park. This is actually were breeding, growing, etc. took place.
They are attacked by there vicious creatures. All they want now is to escape from this dangerous "LOST WORLD".
